Patek Philippe has added a three-minute repeater function to the contemporary Aquanaut Luce series and introduced two models with rose gold cases, highly set with gemstones. One model features a bracelet set with colorful rectangular-cut sapphires, while the other uses invisible-set rectangular-cut diamonds on the dial and a rose gold bracelet set with gemstones.
Although various complications have been seen in the Aquanaut series since its debut in 1997, including the recent annual calendar watch (model 5261), these two first-time models, measuring 38.8mm x 42.5mm, mark Patek Philippe’s debut of the three-minute repeater function in the Aquanaut series.
Patek Philippe has long been dedicated to introducing new complicated watches for female enthusiasts. In 2009, the brand introduced the CH 29-535 PS manual winding chronograph movement for the first time in the Ladies First chronograph watch.
Over the six years starting in 2011, the Reference 7000 Ladies First repeater watch (equipped with the exceptional R 27 PS movement) added luster to the brand’s product portfolio. As early as 1916, Patek Philippe introduced the first chiming wristwatch, a ladies’ five-minute repeater with a platinum case and a chain bracelet.
The new multi-color Aquanaut Luce “Rainbow” three-minute high-jeweled watch (reference 5260/355R-001) is set with 52 multi-color rectangular-cut sapphires, 112 rectangular-cut diamonds, and 160 brilliant-cut diamonds, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of the watchmaker.
These rectangular gemstones use invisible setting techniques, meaning each gemstone is cut with horizontal grooves embedded with tiny gold rails, which become invisible once the gemstones are set.
