Shanghai has just welcomed a sweet addition with Louis Vuitton’s third chocolate store, marking the brand’s first chocolate boutique in China, following previous openings in Paris and Singapore. Named Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric after its award-winning head pastry chef, the store boasts an impressive floor-to-ceiling wooden trunk display and an interior design featuring tropical motifs. Adding a touch of whimsy, the store also showcases the Vivienne mascot alongside its pet lion, The Petula.
The chocolates, known for their high-quality craftsmanship, are flown in from Paris, with prices ranging from approximately $30 to $448. In a clever move, the store’s opening coincides with Qixi, the Chinese Valentine’s Day.
Frédéric shared in an interview, “We aim to draw inspiration from local culture and lifestyle. In the future, we plan to introduce customized creations for Shanghai, such as for Chinese New Year.” He added, “It’s also essential to share the happiness and joy of these exquisite chocolate treats, because love is the most important ingredient in a piece of chocolate.”
